Real Wedding: Lucy & Mitch’s French Countryside Wedding Design

Lucy & Mitch
Private Residence, Draper

THE COUPLE

Lucy and Mitch met each other on a group date. The only problem—they were on different dates. Cut to 2023 and the stars finally aligned when Mitch asked Lucy out for the first time. Six love-filled months later, the couple was visiting New York when, on a walk through Central Park, Mitch surprised Lucy and popped the big question. She responded with an emphatic “yes!”

THE WEDDING

Mitch and Lucy were sealed in the Draper Temple. After the sealing, the wedding goers headed back to Lucy’s parent’s home for a grand backyard reception. The estate transformed into a  French countryside cottage and was infused with pops of powder blue against white linen, accentedwith lush greenery.

Making her second wedding debut of the day, Lucy entered the reception in a demure Anne Barge ball gown adorned with silk floral brocade. The bride adored the gown so much that flowery motifs mimicking her gown made appearances in the stationary and signage as well. The bridal look was completed with classic white trimmed veil from Frankie Jane Couture Bridal, peep-toe kitten heels and simple pearl stud earrings.

THE PARTY

Live floral garlands and decorative calligraphy lent an air of resplendency to the design, while a sweeping banquet table became a feast for the eyes framed with lush green arches and shimmering crystal chandeliers. A live string quartet set a romantic tone reminiscent of a regency-era soirée. Keeping with her passion for the arts, Lucy also hired live illustrators to capture the magic of the evening. The wedding day menu consisted of French favorites— crêpes and pomme frites—served from adorable vendor carts.

Guests also enjoyed a decadent dessert table piled high with macarons, pistachio cream puffs and more. When it came time to slice the cake, Lucy and Mitch cut into a classic two-tiered blue-and-white gateau. The top layer was a rosemary olive oil cake frosted with lemon curd, fresh raspberry and whipped ricotta buttercream. A vanilla bean cake with bourbon syrup, salted caramel and shortbread crumble made up the sugary-sweet bottom layer. After eating their fill of French sweets, the guests took to the dance floor, where tunes by Zak Osmond had them dancing into the evening.

Lucy donned her final look, a silk number by Ciao Lucia, and made her way through a sparkler-lit exit, hand in hand with her new husband. The couple made a smart getaway in a vintage blue Porsche and continued their post-nuptial celebrations during their Cancun honeymoon.

Intimate “I Do’s” at Cape Kiwanda

This styled elopement on the Cape Kiwanda coast proves that an intimate “I do” can rival the beauty and grandeur of a full-scale wedding

Drawing inspiration from the romance of the shoreline, photographer Amanda Shupe envisioned a high-end celebration without the confines of a traditional venue, where luxury lives in the details and the scenery steals the show.

A shoreline bathed in the glow of the sunset created a dreamy canvas for this elegant elopement shoot. To elevate the design, Shupe incorporated large striated vases brimming with florals, evoking the stately ambiance of a grand castle.

The bride’s ruffled, off-the-shoulder gown introduced a touch of whimsy, its delicate layers catching the ocean breeze. At her side, the groom’s crisp white suit, accented with black-trimmed lapels and bowtie, amplified the ethereal atmosphere while adding a subtle note of sophistication, together creating an intimate moment that felt as timeless as it did charming.

Blush-colored roses, fuchsia peonies and peach carnations brought warmth to the design, mixing seamlessly with the cool blue tones of the ocean and serving as the main color palette for the design.

In the world of photography, flash has become an increasingly popular tool for creating a relaxed, editorial vibe. For this elopement shoot, nighttime flash photography added a touch of Hollywood glamour, elevating the overall atmosphere and lending a cinematic quality to the images.

Big Springs Field: Utah’s Go-to for Adventure Bridals

Photos by Lexie Mikayle Photography

Sarah Davis and Heber Theurer became husband and wife on June 27, 2025, growing their union on a foundation of friendship. Both originally from Utah, Sarah and Heber met at Brigham Young University’s Jerusalem campus in 2023. The students there were shortly evacuated to Greece when the Israel-Hamas war began. Shortly before sealing the deal, the couple met up with photographer Lexie Mikayle to capture their bridal photos against the striking views at Big Springs Field in Provo, Utah.

But First, The Love Story

“I remember looking at him and feeling so comfortable and so loved,” Sarah said, “There was nowhere else I’d rather be, and no other person I’d rather spend time with.”

Sarah and Heber were initially drawn to each other by a simple thread: their mutual love for adventure, strengthened by the values they see in each other.

During their time together in Greece, Sarah fell in love with his thoughtfulness. She had been tirelessly searching for a specific turquoise necklace to match some earrings and a ring she had, but with no luck. On their last day, Heber surprised her with a custom turquoise necklace—he had secretly been searching the whole time, too. Sarah may not have found the perfect necklace but she did find the perfect man for her. “He is thoughtful and dedicated to the people he loves,” Sarah says, describing her husband. “I just want to be a lot like him.”

Heber deeply appreciates Sarah’s supportive nature. “[Sarah] wants to be your number one fan no matter what it is. I have seen Sarah celebrate the smallest of victories for me…things that I don’t even consider to be worth talking about. She gets excited about them.”

“It didn’t take long to realize that I didn’t want to picture myself without Sarah,” Heber shared, grinning ear to ear.

Being twin flames was all fun and games, until Heber needed to surprise Sarah for their engagement. Heber knew he had to be clever in order to ensure she didn’t catch on, and planned an elaborate trip with friends to Zion National Park—which Sarah thought was spontaneous.

“We go to Zion and take a hike up to the beginning of the narrows where she was fully prepared to be proposed to, but then she wasn’t,” Heber laughed. “I faked her out and drove away.”

After this decoy hike, they drove to an iconic lookout accessibly only by tunnel, which is where the proposal really happened.

“She didn’t talk to me that whole walk because she was cold, tired, hungry and sad I hadn’t proposed already,” says Heber. “But right at the end of that quick walk I finally got to surprise her!”

Sarah said “yes” to an elongated cushion ring in gold, accented with pavé-style side stones. Their invisible string was finally pulled tight. Their adventurous souls and caring hearts bound them permanently.

The Bridals at Big Springs Field

These two fun and loving spirits will now get to continue their adventures for the rest of their lives. Their formal bridal pictures were taken at Big Springs Field in Provo, Utah. Sarah wore an ivory satin basque waist dress with a flowing skirt, and bright pink shoes. Flowing down from an updo peppered with pearls, her turquoise necklace, a simple veil completes her bridal ensemble. Heber wore a blue checked suit with a light pink tie—to match his bride’s footwear— and brown shoes, gifted to him by his grandfather.

Real Wedding: Abigail & Connor’s Sunrise Elopement at Horseshoe Bend

THE COUPLE

Abigail, originally from Pennsylvania, and Connor, born in Ohio, met while working together at Crayola in Florida. After they were both transferred to Texas, a strong friendship bloomed into an even stronger romance. The couple has moved states several times since then, but today they call Florida home where Connor continues his work at Crayola and Abigail works in behavioral therapy.

THE PROPOSAL

After building a life in Arizona, Abigail and Connor were preparing to move back to Florida. With their belongings already shipped and the essentials, including two cats, loaded into the car, they did one final walk-through of the now empty apartment they’d called home for two years. Just as they finished checking every last drawer and closet, Connor asked Abigail for help with “one more box” before dropping to one knee. Amid happy tears and laughter, the newly engaged couple said goodbye to their Arizona chapter and set off on their next grand adventure together.

THE WEDDING

Abigail and Connor’s love for the Southwest began during a 2021 road trip with friends that took them through a series of national parks and monuments. One stop, Horseshoe Bend, left a lasting impression, and when it came time to choose a wedding location, the decision felt obvious. The stunning red rock views needed no added décor, and returning to Arizona to exchange vows felt like the most meaningful way to begin this new chapter. Wanting to create an experience that felt true to them, the couple kept the celebration intimate by inviting just ten people, including their photographer, and renting a house in nearby Utah for a full week of rest, connection and slowing down. Their ceremony took place at sunrise, followed by brunch and an afternoon of exploring with their photographer.

Abigail and Connor shared private vows on the cliff’s edge before inviting their group to witness the exchange of traditional vows, led by a close friend who has joined them on many adventures over the years. Instead of a traditional bridal party, the couple invited loved ones to stand with them, including their parents, Connor’s grandmother and close friends. Every detail was intentional, from Abigail’s embroidered veil and self-arranged wood florals to the buckeye nut in Connor’s boutonnière, which served as a nod to his Ohio roots. Her shoes matched his floral tie, creating a quiet harmony that reflected the thoughtfulness behind the entire day.

AFTER THE CEREMONY:

While guests settled in for a slow morning at the house, the newlyweds set out with their photographer, Mette, for a day full of adventure. Still dressed in their wedding attire, they hiked hand in hand to the Sand Caves, where they exchanged heartfelt gifts in the quiet stillness of the red rock. From there, they made their way to Coral Pink Sand Dunes. Kicking off their shoes, they played in the warm sand and soaked in the joy of their first day as husband and wife.

Destination Bridals in Cathedral Gorge, Nevada

A Utah couple celebrates the beauty of the red rock with perfectly captured bridals in Cathedral Gorge.

A red-rock love affair — that is the perfect way to describe Lindsey and Garrett’s tale of romance. The pair first met on a blind double date, and there must have been sparks because when they reconnected a year later, they picked up right where they left off.

Two years later, they were prepared to seal the deal. “He proposed two years after our first date, in the late morning at Kolob Canyon,” says bride Lindsey. “It was so peaceful and beautiful — the perfect moment!”

Garrett and Lindsey stuck to their love of desert landscapes for their pre-wedding first look photoshoot. Alongside photographer Lexie Mikayle, the bride and groom trekked across the Nevada border for bridals in Cathedral Gorge, aiming to use the canyon’s impressive geological forms as a rich textural backdrop for their photos.

“I’ve always dreamed of having bridal photos that were not only beautiful but also unique,” says Lindsey. “Cathedral Gorge was perfect for that. The formations are so stunning, and I love that it’s all completely natural.”

For their bridal vignettes, Garrett donned a classic black suit, sporting a sleek black tie and dainty white boutonniere to match his bride. Lindsey’s gown, purchased at Alta Moda Bridal in Salt Lake City, was a customized piece featuring intricate full-length beading and delicate floral lace. Romantic sheer sleeves added feminine contrast to the austere forms of the canyon, and a flowing veil completed the look.

Photographer Lexie Mikayle aided the couple as they romped about the rock formations, capturing beautiful moments of love and laughter for the pair to remember fondly for years to come.

Real Wedding: Country Chic Charms at Mt. Naomi Farms

Austin and Hadlee celebrate their union at Mt. Naomi Farms.

THE COUPLE

Austin and Hadlee’s modern fairytale began not with a dating app but with hair clippers instead. A mutual friend of Austin and Hadlee’s mom was giving Austin a haircut one casual day and told him that there was a girl he just had to meet. Austin and Hadlee connected and were instantly starstruck.

From Kuna, Idaho and Tremonton, Utah, they bonded over small towns, countrysides and always wanting a good time. Hadlee works for a private clinic and Austin is in electrical work.

Their love is evident, you cannot be around the goofy couple without seeing their true connection. Hadlee shared how Austin instantly gives her a sense of peace and a sturdy place of solace. Sharing his love for Hadlee, Austin said, “Hadlee is my best friend. I love coming home to her and…I love being with her and love the time we have together. We’re just goofy, we just always laugh with each other and it’s just easy.” Austin continued, “One of the first things I noticed about being with Hadlee was that I could be myself and I had never felt like that before.”

THE PROPOSAL

In this storybook love, Austin and Hadlee knew their dating chapter would be fast. Before the proposal even happened, they were wedding planning. Hadlee custom designed the ring of her dreams, a white gold band with a marquis cut diamond, and after that she was waiting for the big day to come.

Austin had been doing some electrical work at a property in return for letting him and Hadlee hunt deer there. The land is one of Hadlee’s favorite places and Austin wanted to commemorate it by making it the site of their proposal. The day of, he and a small group worked for three hours to make the set up perfect. Then it was time to go pick Hadlee up for “dinner” and also a “lost drill.” Next to a river, underneath the stars, surrounded by trees, rose petals and string lights, Austin asked Hadlee to marry him, and she said the most perfect word, “Yes!”

THE WEDDING

Austin and Hadlee got married on April 26, 2025. A day which is now officially documented in the books as the Andersons’ Anniversary Day. It was a flawless celebration with a country chic touch. Hadlee stunned their guests with her wedding dress, an ornate and sparkly ball gown with floral accents. The groom, keeping the southern charm, was dressed in nice jeans and boots with a tan suit coat and a white button up.

The day was filled with sentiment and special moments. Hadlee had both her parents walking her down the aisle and her grandfather was the officiant. Many sweet gifts were given, a special tie for her dad, a bouquet dedication for her mom and a custom boudoir book specially crafted for her husband, and her husband’s eyes only.

The decor was a sea of baby blues and light pinks. The sweet couple came together at an altar of an eternity circle covered in white roses, eucalyptus, blue hydrangeas and some mini pink floral accents. The venue was a vineyard with rolling fields of green to walk through. The barn was a rustic gem with a spiral staircase, chandelier illuminated pine and vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams. The altar overlooking the valley created a breathtaking view for the couple to be wed. Mt. Naomi Farms is just a little ways away from their home in Tremonton which made it possible for their family and friends to attend. They could not have gotten married without their community joining together on this foundational step. Hadlee and Austin chose a private vow exchange. This love is theirs, and it stays close to their hearts.

THE PARTY

Arm in arm, holding on to their love, they had their first dance to “Hang of Hangin On” by Randall King. The romantic glow of the chandeliers beautifully accented the interior of the barn. Dusty blue table runners and blush colored napkins with floral pieces and gold accents continued their spring color theme. They catered to the barns natural beauty, and allowed that to be an already perfect detail. Following the sweet sentiments, the community celebrated the new family with a party—goofy and fun just like the newlyweds. The night went on, bustling with friends and dancing of all sorts, from the bride’s great grandma getting down to “Get Low” by Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz to a surprise father daughter dance remix featuring Kesha and a confetti cannon. Fueled by fun, joy, chips and salsa, the night was non stop. In the blink of an eye, the day came to a close and they were sent off by cheers, mini hand streamers and a raunchy but aptly decorated getaway car that took them to Las Vegas for their honeymoon.

Real Wedding: A Chic Affair at River Bottoms Ranch

THE COUPLE

Jessie and Gabe’s journey together began in college at Santa Clara University in California. Jessie spent her formative years in Neuchatel, Switzerland, and later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. She met Gabe, a native of Stockton, California, when they were neighbors at school. The couple will be celebrating nine years together this October.

THE PROPOSAL

Jessie and Gabe got engaged during a ski trip to Banff, Canada, with Jessie’s sister Kelsey and her husband Connor. After a day one the slopes, Kelsey and Connor led Jessie out to Lake Minnewanka where they walked around until they reached a lookout point, where Gabe was waiting. Gabe then escorted Jessie out onto the lake where he gave a romantic speech before getting down on one knee. After the proposal, the couple took a gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain and celebrated with a sunset dinner.

THE WEDDING

Jessie and Gabe always knew that they wanted to get married in the mountains and because they have lots of friends and family here, Utah was the natural choice for their picturesque wedding. After visiting River Bottoms Ranch, the unreal views, spacious indoor and outdoor areas, and modern barn look swept the couple off their feet.

For their wedding, Jessie and Gabe mixed classic elegance with comfortability. The couple wanted a summer wedding with an outdoor setting and lots of light and greenery. To complement the natural landscape, they chose earthy greens, soft white, and baby blue for their color pallete.

Leading up to the ceremony Gabe delivered a love letter to Jessie every hour for every year they’d been together. The letters, which totaled 8 in all, recounted the adventures and milestones of each year and served to document their love story. Without knowing that Gabe had had this planned, Jessie also prepared a letter for Gabe to read before the ceremony which included photos of her favorite memories with Gabe.

THE PARTY

For their reception, Jessie and Gabe hired a hybrid DJ/band with a saxophonist and drummer. Their first dance was a romantic number choreographed to “All of Me” by John Legend, but the couple had another surprise dance in store for their guests. After dinner, Jessie snuck off to change into her second dress while the DJ gathered everyone for the big number. Then Jessie and Gabe took to the dance floor and impressed their guests with a dance Jessie choreographed herself to Jennifer Lopez’s “Let’s Get Loud.”

THE HONEYMOON

After their wedding, the couple took off to Croatia where they explored the islands of the Adriatic sea by boat and ate amazing seafood.

Royal-Worthy Elegance at UVU’s Museum of Art

Immerse yourself in a romantic wedding scene at Utah’s newest fine art venue on UVU’s campus.

Elegant florals, innovative place settings and delightful details transform Utah Valley University Museum of Art’s courtyard into a scene plucked straight from a wedding dream.

GATHER AROUND

Rather than choosing a traditional altar setup, many couples are leaning toward a more interactive experience. In this magical scene set against the picturesque, European manor facade of the UVU MOA, guests are surrounded by a beautiful botanical garden as the couple exchanges vows in a circular ceremony arrangement that puts the lovers at center stage. Rich ruby and caramel florals radiate from the main event, immersing each guest in the day’s breathtaking scene.

ALL IN THE DETAILS

Elegance is infused into every moment of this dreamy design, thanks to the distinctive details planted by the pros on site. Personalized fans direct the dinner’s seating chart, where expertly ruched linen delivers rich texture to the tabletops. Among hand-crafted blossoming trees, a stunningly sculptural cake matches organically molded chargers and flatware to continue the nature-driven theme along each tablescape.

IGNITE THE NIGHT

Capture the beauty of Utah’s iconic sunsets, and ignite your wedding dinner with dusky dreams. Rich twilight tones set the stage for speeches and the welcoming of guests. Then transition to glowing candlelight, evoking a sense of sultry mystery that concludes the evening. Teaming with traditional tapers and votives, gilded lanterns add luxury and extra sparkle to the scene.
