Bezel settings are taking the celebrity world by storm: Miley Cyrus, Zendaya and even the lovers’ idol Taylor Swift have all embraced the bezel wave, sporting engagement rings with clean, contemporary lines and the perfect dash of vintage charm. According to Alexis Branscomb, an expert stylist at J. Brooks Jewelers, those oldschool styles, ironically, are making a comeback with fiancées who want something new. “Vintage settings reemerge frequently because they feel fresh in a way—they haven’t been seen recently, so they feel unique and curated.”
Ideal for round-cut diamonds, the bezel setting offers extra protection, opting for a full metal casing around the stone, rather than the typically-seen prong.
“A bezel setting is one of the most secure styles you can have for an engagement ring,” says Branscomb. “It’s awesome for anyone really hard on their hands, and offers a great blend of trendy sparkle and classic elegance.”
