Inspired by the couples’ love for the outdoors, wedding planner Irene Katzias designed a colorful summer celebration at Deer Valley’s Silver Lake Lodge

The Couple
From the first time they met at a worship group to the day they read quiet, private vows to one another at the beautiful Silver Lake Lodge, Carmen and Caeden’s love has been grounded in faith from the beginning. Native to Texas, this couple has been enamored by the beauty of the outdoors at home and here in Utah alike.
The Proposal
Caeden hatched a tenderly detailed plan to surprise Carmen with her ring in the rolling hills of Park City. The couple was in town visiting Carmen’s parents, with Carmen on the tail end of a long stretch of night shifts at her job as a nurse. Caeden surprised his love with the engagement dress she had planned to wear and a hand-written note in a family-centered gesture. The couple rendezvoused at High West Distillery where he popped the question. “It was truly magical,” Carmen said.
The Wedding
With light spilling in from every angle, Caeden and Carmen’s wedding elegantly blurred the lines of the indoor and outdoor to flood Deer Valley with summer color. Carmen envisioned “the most beautiful pop of color in all directions.” The navy blue of her bridesmaids’ attire set a stunning stage for a rush of soft pink and orange with bright accents. Curated touches of hand-held fans and a monogrammed dance floor complemented sparkling glassware for an ambience of elevated whimsy.
When asked about the special day, many of the couple’s vendors couldn’t help but to comment on how well they felt the event matched the couple’s personalities. “Designing this wedding was truly a joy from the start!” said their wedding planner, Irene Katzias. “Carmen’s infectious smile and kind heart inspired us to create details that were bold and beautiful, full of personality and texture, with a touch of romance and a playful undertone.”
Prosciutto-wrapped chicken, braised short ribs and quinoa paella delighted guests after the ceremony. A cocktail hour featuring a Paloma and an Old Fashioned prepared the glittering event for a lively evening.
Arches of blooms were traded for a truly magnificent ceiling centerpiece as the dancing began. Live music from Rhinestone Rodeo spurred on a night of modern western charm.
The Honeymoon
Following the celebration, Carmen and Caeden were whisked off to a honeymoon at Playa del Mujeres, Mexico for a sun-dappled getaway.
