But that’s exactly what happened on August 24th, 2020 in Fountain Hills, Arizona. She couldn’t resist checking out this blonde hair, blue-eyed guy that showed up mid-way into the party. She had an overwhelming feeling that she had met him before.
With only minutes to spare, the man she had had both of her eyes on finally came over to stand next to her at the sparkler sendoff for the newlywed best friend and her new husband. Thinking again that they had met before, she approached him with a twinkle in her eye and said, “you look so familiar. Have we met before?” The two strangers tried without success to discover where they might have met. Was it an online dating app like Mutual? Was it church institute? Was it somewhere he had played the piano? He finally reached out his hand and said, “Well I’m Dave. Nice to meet you. What’s your name?” She replied that her name was Brianne. “Well Brianne, we should get together for ice cream sometime when you are back in town. Do you come to Phoenix often?” Just then, Brianne’s date came back and upon discovering that Dave appeared to be interested in his Brianne decided to have some fun with the situation. Standing behind Dave he did everything he could to make Brianne laugh by making funny faces and kissy lips with his brother (who was also in attendance). He was almost successful. But right before Brianne began to lose it, she attempted to separate herself from the situation by telling Dave that her feet hurt and that she would like to retrieve her shoes from inside the church and that he should come with her. The new friends made their way into the building and soon Dave had her number. The two then separated and Brianne went on with her original date. They were away on their dating activity for the evening riding electric scooters when he said over and over again to make fun of her “you’re going to marry that man.” Little did he know how true that statement would be.
Tana and Dawn sent this message to all of the vendors a few days before their wedding, assuring that rain or shine, they were tying the knot! The week leading up to their wedding we are sure that all of us were watching the weather to see if it was going to rain. Of course, Tana and Dawn have been planning their wedding for so long that they had backup plans to their backup plans for their wedding… but we all still hoped that mother nature would cooperate and give these ladies their dream day that they hoped for.
Tana and Dawn had quite the crew to help them get ready. When you have two beautiful brides who need hair and makeup done, it can take a little while, and a few people as well. Right in the middle of the hustle and rushing back and forth to make sure everything was ready for both Tana and Dawn, a big, dark cloud could be seen coming over the mountains. We checked our phones to look at the weather, and sure enough… rain was going to come… right when the ceremony started.
No doubt, Tana and Dawn were mostly distracted by the finishing touches on their make-up, dresses, and family members to worry about the rain. But we think every single guest and vendor at the wedding looked outside and hoped, wished, and prayed that there would be even the slightest let up of the storm. When it was time for Tana and Dawn to line up to walk for their ceremony, the heavens suddenly went from gray… to blue. Minutes before the music started for the ceremony… the rain stopped… the sun broke through the clouds… and the wedding that Tana and Dawn had planned every waking minute for over a year was going to happen.
After their “I do’s” Tana and Dawn had a butterfly release planned. Family and friends meticulously placed over 150 butterflies from envelopes into a box to be opened to let them all out before they walked back down the aisle. However, since the weather was just warming back up, when the box lid was opened… the butterflies stayed in their cozy box. After a little coaching from Tana and Dawn, they started exiting the box and landing on their hands and dresses giving them literal butterfly kisses and well wishes. Days later, Tana and Dawn would report that they still saw their butterfly friends hanging around the Hyatt Centric in abundant numbers, reminding them of their perfect day.
Instead of gifts, Tana and Dawn asked for donations to the Ziegfeld Theater, who were performing Broadway tunes during their reception. With songs from Shrek the Musical to Rent, all guests were entertained and given the best show around. Between the performances, the weather, the vendors and staff, and the brides, if we were to sum up this Park City Wedding at the Hyatt Centric into one word, it would be this: perfect.
“Brock and I met at a concert six years ago. I was with a girlfriend and I felt someone tap me on the shoulder and I turned around and it was Brock. He told me that I was the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen and that he just had to come and introduce himself. A few days later we hung out and have been inseparable ever since. They say, “when you know, you know.” That couldn’t be more true for us. We’re truly best friends and neither one of us can imagine life without the other. We got married two years later and now have a three year old little girl that has completely stolen our hearts and changed our lives for the better. We’ve been thru so much and have grown so much both individually and together and are stronger than ever. He is my soulmate, best friend, and lover.” -Andi Emery, bride
“As a wedding planner and designer, I am fortunate to have my mom as a business partner. This styled shoot was a nod to her love of classic British novels. We worked to bring vignettes from her favorite 19th century books to life, but with a distinctly modern sensibility,” says Becca Dupaix of Blondie Events.
“Nestled among the sunny windows, manicured terrace, and antique details of Heritage Gardens, we wanted to entice our guests with playful colors and effortless elegance. Spring in an English Garden, like the mountains of Utah, can be unpredictably cool, grey, and damp. We embraced the moody tones of rain clouds with dusty blue, soft ivory, and heather purple. We brought the garden indoors by adding early spring blooms like hellebore alongside barely budding branches arranged in loose, dynamic, and almost wild shapes.”
“A balance between formality and modern whimsy was applied throughout the design, from the refined place settings with their subtle leather details, to the bespoke stationery with cheerful accents, the classic tiered cake with delicate marble details, and even the reserved A-line silhouette of the bridal gown and it’s exuberant beading.”
The result was a chic, inviting and joyful styling that would warm even the cloudiest days.
You’ve probably heard other brides telling you about how important it is to feel like you on your wedding day but it’s a very valuable piece of advice!
The beauty of your wedding is that it’s unique to you and that you have the freedom to omit any traditions that you just don’t vibe with. Thinking about forgoing traditional bridal white for a black wedding dress? We’re in!
Don’t get us wrong, we’ll always have an affinity for the traditional ivory gown but with so many gorgeous black dresses out there, we get wanting to switch it up.

“This shoot was so much more special than I could have imagined. I am a Seattle based wedding photographer who was born in St. George! Utah has always had a special spot in my heart. I was visiting St. George with my fiance and decided to set up a styled shoot while I was down there.
Before the shoot my fiance told me he was “scouting locations” for the session while I was getting some work done in the car. He came back and said he found the perfect spot and wanted me to come see it. We started walking towards this gorgeous plateau by the water. Then he helped pull me up onto the lookout in Sand Hollow. There was a white canvas blanket, with a vase of flowers, a professional photographer and my family watching from afar. Next thing I knew, he was down on one knee PROPOSING! It was the best day of my life. 30 minutes after getting engaged was my styled shoot. My sweet model Brittany texted me “I’m here!” and when I told her I just got engaged she asked if we should reschedule. I said “no way, this will be the best styled shoot I’ve ever done”. I went into this styled shoot absolutely elated and inspired.
Brittany Ence was a dream to work with, Jocelyn’s Floral did a stunning job with the flowers, and Lulu’s is always a good place to get high quality dresses on a budget. This was the most amazing day and I couldn’t be happier.”
The warm, organic lines and colors in the landscape offer the perfect contrast for the intricate lace detailing on the Raw + Golden gown. Then–because western wedding inspiration is about more than just the perfect cowboy hat–Wild Escape Florals offers a pop of color in the form of jewel-toned florals.
Pro-tip: If you’re looking for inspiration for your own boho western bridals, take note of the tassels on the bride’s jacket and the groom’s bolo tie. These two understated style choices pack a punch and complete the look.
