The engaged man: Picking up save the date cards (on the cheap)
Wedding pros say you should send save the date cards to your entire out-of-state guest list at least eight to six months before your big day.
Elise has a bunch of folks in California, most of my extended family is in New York and we also have people flying in from Las Vegas, Texas, Florida and Virginia—and our wedding’s in August—so we need to get ours out quickly.
You could get them designed with your engagement shots from a local printer, but we wanted to save those shots (and the money for personalized cards) for the invitations.
Generally, non-personalized save the dates go for around $25 for 25 cards. We found this package of 25 at Zurchers for $10.

The cards are simple, to the point and eloquent.

We also picked up this $300 pack of petals at Zurchers for $10.

It’s worth it to check nearby party stores and compare prices to supplies from local vendors. Of course, you won’t want to get everything at the party store. Next, we’re going over invitations and bridals with Book Cliff Photography and flowers for the wedding with Stella Posy.
