Photographer Lyndsey Fagerlund approached me with her idea for this retro/candy inspired shoot a few months back, inspired by this Gumball Theme Birthday Party (Lyndsey actually shot this fun party that was featured on HGTV!). I have quite the sweet tooth and the concept for this shoot definitely hit the spot. What girl doesn’t love anything candy colored and sugary sweet?

Studio Enizio was enlisted to do the makeup, which they kept retro inspired with a bit of a vintage touch. They added what they called “Megan Fox eyes” to make it a bit more modern. The bouquet provided for a perfect centerpiece for the shoot, created by Brenna Quan AIFD at Blooming Pearl. Made up of red roses and adorned with gumballs, aluminum wire and pixie dust sprinklings of iridescent glitter, it could not be more perfect for the shoot. For even more retro inspiration, model Jalene wore her mom’s actual wedding dress from 1964. Mini’s Cupcakes was an obvious choice for the location with it’s sugary, sweet vintage vibe.

We love the idea of candy bars and vintage themes for any wedding day. A retro-vintage theme would be so fun, bright, eclectic and cheery. Gumballs, candy and cupcakes were bring a youthful and whimsical element to make your day so much more memorable. Consider a fun theme like this if you are wearing a vintage dress or have knack for all things old school
