Bridal Fashion Week: Trend Report

Oct 23, 2009 - 09:28 AM

Do I have a treat for you today! Fresh off a plane from NYC, Hilary Anderson, fashionista and owner of Alta MODA Bridal Boutique, shares the scoop on emerging trends she spied on the runways at Bridal Fashion Week. Feast your eyes on the bounty of stunningly gorgeous gowns below.

Trend 1: Exaggerated Flowers
"Fabric flowers have always been a romantic touch on wedding gowns," says Anderson. "While this season's new trend is still amorous, it delivers a contemporary and couture interpretation to the embellishment. Oversize and worked complete the look."

Trend 2: Dimensional Skirts
"This is a great new trend in wedding gowns. Picking up where pick-ups left off, textural skirts are playful, sophisticated, and the new luxe look. Offering a new silhouette and a renaissance of the grand gown."

Trend 3: Tulle
"Stronger than ever and now with more diversity, this bridal mainstay fabric was popular not just in skirts, but belts, illusion tops, ruching, and layering. It is for a young bride who appreciates a couture look."

Love what you see? Alta MODA has gowns just as beautiful as these right now in-store (and may soon have some of the lovlies pictured above)—go check them out. Many thanks Hilary!!

P.S. - What do you think of these new trends? Love 'em? Hate 'em? I'd love to hear what you think!

I like all of these trends–they are all very feminine and dreamy. Reese
