Check out these helpful bridal makeup and hair tips from the lovely ladies at Enizio (and photos of their beautiful work on Utah brides!):

1. The Mane Event
"Consider the time of day and type of wedding when choosing a hairstyle. Loose styles are appropriate for informal or daytime weddings, while updos portray a formal, evening look.

The perfect hair color can also add to the look of your hairstyle. However, when making changes to color or length, do it at least 6-8 weeks before the event."

2. Makeup Musts
"While the wedding day may be a day of many exceptions, it’s important that you feel and look like yourself. The wedding day is not necessarily the day to try a smokey eye if you have never worn it. Discuss with your makeup artists your everyday makeup so they know where their limitations are. Schedule a trial run-through to avoid any stress caused by miscommunication with your artists.

Remember, however, makeup photographs two shades lighter so give your makeup artist some room to play around and be willing to compromise. On the wedding day, decide if you want to look good for the guest or for the camera. If you pick the camera, be advised that your makeup application will be heavier but does not mean that it will be unnatural."

3. Skin Care 101
"The first step to exceptional makeup is exceptional skin. Just like hair, in order for skin to look and feel healthy it needs proper nourishment. Here is a simple breakdown of ingredients to look for in your skincare:

  • Antioxidant: fights free-radicals (i.e. pollution, environmental damage, uv rays)
  • Vitamin A: helps fight aging; typically applied at night because it makes your skin sensitive to sunlight.
  • Vitamin C: antioxidant; boosts natural collagen production to prevent wrinkles and plump skin; great for acne-prone skin.
  • Vitamin E: heals and moisturizes; can be applied to new scar tissue to help minimize scarring.
  • Make sure you get on a proper skin care regimen at least 3 months before your wedding."

4. The Right Stuff
"Hiring a professional hair and makeup artist should be a big priority when planning your wedding. When all is said and done, all you have left is your photography and the way you looked. Makeup artists can assist you in looking your best at any time of day because they understand how makeup photographs at different times of the day.

Do not book just any hairdresser for your wedding day hair. Look for someone who specializes in bridal hair to guarantee a beautiful long lasting style that complements your face shape and does not take away from the overall look. Finding balance within the hair, the makeup and the dress requires professionals who know what they are talking about."
