A Walk on the Wild Side

Jun 9, 2009 - 09:06 AM

I am back from Bridget and Colby's wedding in Las Vegas, and am happy to report it was a blast! As you could gather from the bride’s glam-rock-style bridals I posted last week, this Utah couple's wedding featured a “rock star” theme. What does a rock star-themed wedding entail, you ask?

For starters, hot pink sunglasses and zebra stripe ties to adorn the groomsmen, black dresses paired with hot pink shoes for the bridesmaids (plus zebra stripe leggings for one bmaid), inflatable guitars and microphones given as wedding favors, and reception tables and seating charts arranged according to famous rock bands like Led Zeppelin and Skid Row. Mix in a heavy dose of bedazzled bling and zebra stripe-décor galore, and the result is a super fun, super unique celebration for one super cool couple.

Check out some photos from the wedding to get a better sense of the rock-heavy theme. (Don’t judge my point-and-shoot pictures—photography is not my forte. I will post more images from Shannon Masayo, the wedding photographer, so stay tuned!)

The ceremony was held on the grounds of the Montelago Resort.

The adorable flower girl—sporting a hot pink tiara—and the super-cool ring bearer—sporting a hot pink mohawk.

The happy couple as they enter the reception.

Reception chairs were decorated with black slipcovers and zebra stripe sashes.

Centerpieces featured hot pink feathers and neon lights. Tables were identified by famous rock bands.

Glowing pink ice cubes lit up water glasses.

The yummy cake featured vanilla buttercream and chocolate zebra stripes.

The bride flanked by two bridesmaids. I love Bridget's Kitty Chen gown from from The Brides' Shop in SLC. Bridesmaids chose their own black dresses and hot pink shoes.

Groomsmen wore hot pink shades, zebra stripe ties and "GM" patches.

The ring bearer rocks out at the reception with an inflatable guitar (given as wedding favors).

Congratulations, Bridget and Colby!
