As one of the founders of Utah Bride Blog, I'm sure many of you are already familiar with Megan Bailey. But did you know Megan also runs her own custom invitation business? I first met Megan a few years ago when I was searching for stylish invites to feature in Utah Bride & Groom magazine. I was searching around online looking for new talent, when I came across Megan's company: Pink Piggy Design. I instantly fell in love with her creative, contemporary invitations, so I contacted her, she lent me some samples for a photo shoot, and the rest is history.

I have enjoyed working with Megan and Pink Piggy ever since—she always comes up with fun, new ideas. Recently, she revamped the Pink Piggy website, but this was no average redesign...For the site she organized a photo shoot to showcase some of her new invitations, and Megan had the idea to photograph the invitations in different scenes with models and props that coordinated with each invitation's mood and theme. Alta MODA Bridal supplied dresses, Enizio worked the models' hair and makeup, Studio Stems designed the flowers and Heidi Uhl of Retrospect Studios captured the images. The result? Pure magic.

What I love about this photo shoot concept is it represents something essential when it comes to selecting and designing wedding invitations: your invitations should be a reflection of what's to come at your wedding. Invitations offer guests a glimpse of what the wedding will be like: casual, elegant, colorful, whimsical, rustic, modern, vintage. If you are planning a specific theme for your wedding, say butterflies or birds or bicycles, carry that theme throughout all your wedding details, beginning with your invitations.

Later today Megan will be sharing her top wedding invitation tips, as well as more of her new designs—you won't want to miss it!
