Nicole & Glenn {Real Utah Wedding}

Feb 5, 2010 - 11:01 AM

I know everyone is looking forward to spring (trust me, no one more so than me!), but if I may, allow me to take you back to last fall for a moment (on a dreary day like today that's not such a stretch, right?) ...

Last October we featured Nicole's vintage-inspired bridals (here and here). I loved her style—the fingerless lace gloves, the birdcage veil, the pearls—so I was excited when her photographer, Elizabeth Taylor Frandsen, sent over Nicole's November wedding. Today we are featuring Nicole and her hubby Glenn's big day from the get-go, showcasing some images of their e-session and her bridals along with the wedding. But there's a twist: since a wedding album is what brides are ultimately working towards with wedding photos, Elizabeth had the great idea to feature pages from the album she designed for the couple, rather than just their photos. So, without further ado, I give you the love story of Nicole and Glenn....

Nicole and Glen were married November 24, 2009, in the Provo LDS Temple, and held a reception that evening at the BYU Skyroom Restaurant. Here are some details about the wedding from Nicole...

 Wedding Theme and Inspiration: "We definitely did everything in a very traditional way. My dress and accessories, though they seem modern right now, used to be considered very traditional (the birdcage veil, the lace gloves, my hair back in a bun, etc.). I chose traditional accessories that mimicked what my mom and grandma wore for their weddings. I wore a similar headpiece and gloves as my mother, and wore my grandmother's pearls. Even our rings are traditional! We both went with yellow gold. We also had a theme of bows: my dress had a big bow on the side, and so all my bridesmaids had big bows on their dresses, as well as on my cake and around the centerpieces. All the men wore tuxes."

Wedding Décor: "My colors were wine and yellow, with a small accent of ivory. We used a lot of lemons and raspberries in our décor, since they were the fruits that were closest to our colors. We had a wine-colored table runner on each table, accompanied by a vase filled with lemons and yellow flowers (assembled by my mom, siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles!), and a framed picture or two of one of our engagements and/or my bridals. We served raspberry lemonade and brownies with raspberries on them. We also had an awesome ice sculpture with floating wine- and yellow-colored flowers, and our names carved in it."

Special Touch: "My dad passed away about two years ago, but we really wanted to include him. Near the entrance to our reception we set up a little table with some candles and some pictures of my dad and I."

Favorite Moment: "Besides actually getting married, my favorite part was walking out of the Temple to see ALL of my family members and friends. We had a large group and it was so special to see everyone so excited."

Congratulations Nicole and Glen! Many thanks to Elizabeth Taylor Frandsen for sharing the couple's wedding album with us!
