Boudoir Session {Photography}

Feb 1, 2010 - 02:28 PM

Happy Monday! Sorry for the late post today, it has been a busy morning in the JES Publishing offices!

So, since today is the first day of February and Valentine's Day is just a few weeks away, I thought it would be fun to share this flirty boudoir session by Erin Kate Photography. I love boudoir shoots; if done tastefully, they evoke the glamour and intrigue of Old Hollywood screen sirens and '50s pin-up girls. Whether you're looking for a sexy V-Day gift for your fiance or hubby (trust me, a little black book full of these photos will outshine a box full of chocolates any day), or a personal wedding gift for your groom, a boudoir photo shoot is a fun, playful idea.

So, what does a boudoir photo shoot entail? Erin of Erin Kate Photography shares the skinny: "My boudoir sessions are classy, tasteful and always fun! I've never had a client leave a session saying they didn't have a great time even if they were a little nervous to start. All boudoir sessions are photographed on location. This could be a fabulous hotel room, the client's home or a friend's home, or any other unique location chosen by the client. Sessions are 1-2 hours long depending on the number of wardrobe changes. I take my time getting to know the client...after all, I want the client to look fabulous in each photograph!"

Worried about being shy in front of the camera? "This is what I tell ladies," says Erin, "There is no need to be nervous about a boudoir session. You only reveal what you feel comfortable showing. No matter what size or shape of your body, a boudoir session is a perfect time to celebrate the woman that you are and emphasize the areas that your soon-to-be husband loves about you!"

Thanks Erin for sharing your images and information!

What a great idea! I think I would've pooh-poohed it when I was getting married, but now that I've had a kid and will never look like that again, I wish I'd preserved the moment with a professional!
