Before we celebrate the New Year and the holidays come to an end, I want to share with you Ashley and Taylor's December wedding held at the Bountiful LDS Temple and Eaglewood Golf Course, captured by Lindsay McCormick of Lindsay Jane Photography. What I love about this wedding is although it took place in December, there was not a hint of red, green or Santa in sight. "It was a December wedding that basically had nothing to do with Christmas," says bride Ashley. Instead the couple focused on the winter season: "We both love the snow. I think that when it snows, the world looks more beautiful and magical, and we really focused on that. Even though there wasn't snow on the ground, we created snow inside the wedding!"

Ashley wore a princess-style ballgown from David's Bridal topped with a custom jacket. Taylor wore a gray tux from Lee's Tuxedo with a silver vest, blue tie and blue pocket handkerchief, and gray shoes. In line with the couples wintery blue, purple and silver color palette, bridesmaids wore gray dresses paired with purple belts, black tights and dark purple shoes, and groomsmen wore gray tuxes with purple vests, purple ties and black shoes.

 

 

The theme of the reception was "Winter Wonderland" and the decor focused on the blue, purple and silver color palette, and details like snowflakes and ornaments. "We wanted the affect of snow inside the reception, so we hung blue, purple, silver and white snowflakes from the entire ceiling," says Ashley. Glittery white candles illuminated the reception area. Table centerpieces consisted of large vases filled with sparkly blue and silver ornaments with a glittery, glowing candle in the middle. White linens topped tables, while purple chair ribbons dressed up the seating. For wedding favors, the couple chose small bottles of bubbles decorated with a white snowflake. When Ashley and Taylor made their departure, guests showered them with the gentle bubbles.
