New Gown Trends

Apr 13, 2009 - 04:13 PM

Want a peek at the latest looks in bridal fashion? Hilary Anderson, owner of Alta MODA Bridal Boutique in Salt Lake City, just returned from Bridal Fashion Week in New York City, and she shares with us the new trends in wedding gowns fresh off the runway.

The New Neckline
“At the brides' requests, designers have added a new and exciting neckline to the repertoire: the one shoulder gown. Seen in lace, sheers, or sculpted satin, the neckline is feminine, sexy and chic.”

Sheer and Soft
“Not just for sheath dresses anymore, we saw a lot of sheer dresses in voluminous ball gowns and draped confections. Organza was the clear favorite, followed closely by tulle and nets, all used in fresh, new treatments.”

The New Traditional
"Refined and updated classics hit the runways at full force this season. Details traditionally seen in bridal, like deep lace hems, full skirts, and romantic touches, returned to the runways. Modern and fresh, these timeless elements were reintroduced by all of the top designers.”
